How I Work

How I Work

When it comes to choosing your wedding photographer, I know that it can be massively overwhelming with so many photographers out there to choose from! However, I think a good place to start is to decide on what style/approach would really suit you. For me, I think documentary photography is the style to go for. You won't find me setting up any shots or re-creating any images. I don't pose any shots so if you don't like the idea of standing around being told to pose this way or that way then please read on.

A typical wedding day usually starts with the bridal prep at least a couple of hours before the bride leaves for the ceremony. I try and capture everything as it happens, nothing is staged and nothing is posed and I certainly will not ask you to recreate any images.

My style of photography is about documenting your day as it happens.

There are so many things to be thinking about on your wedding day and I don’t want photography to be one of them. So when you hire someone like me who photographs in a documentary wedding photography style, you can relax and just enjoy your day, safe in the knowledge that all those important moments are being captured

The prep images are not staged and at no point have I had any input. I won't ask you to re-create images by asking you to pretend to do your makeup or hair again, this way I like to capture the emotions and the reactions of not just the bride & groom but of all the guests at your wedding.

Again, with the ceremony photographs, I have no input. I capture it all totally naturally. I like to start capturing the story as guests arrive, as grooms look on nervously as the bride walks down the aisle and then, the confetti,  the hugs and the congratulations that naturally occur after the wedding.

Although I like to capture the day as it happens naturally there is little point in you investing lots of money in wedding photography if there isn’t enough time for me to take a few fabulous, creative photographs of just the two of you. For these I won't tell you to pose this way or that way or get you into awkward poses but I will just ask you to just either go for a walk together or to go and stand in a certain location and just be yourselves whilst I capture some amazing photographs of just the two of you.

This also gives you time to get away from it all and have a little quiet time together as newlyweds.

Also, it’s often nice to take some time out during the day to have intimate pictures of just you and your partner as newlyweds, away from the hustle and bustle of it all. This gives you time to breathe and spend a bit of time together while settling yourselves before going back to all of your family and friends.

These images are also a nice way to finish off your album or make for some amazing wall art.
